T his event comes around at the same time every year making it one of the easiest trips you can plan. Innbruck does New Years right in their historic market square. They will be paying for live music and stage shows all through the night and, of course, into the New Year.
It all start when the sun goes down in full at 6p.m. Make sure you’ve hit the streets well before then to make sure you can get a spot for your favorite stage performers and acts. There will be live DJ’s and an actual Las Vegas Elvis show in the middle of the square! When midnight strikes twelve be prepared for one of the most beautiful fireworks displays you’ll ever bare witness to. The fireworks display explodes over the Nordpark Mountains and continued dancing and celebrations in the middle of the town square.
If you’re worried about children’s entertainment, well, they have that covered, too. The kiddie shows and attractions start at 4:30 p.m. kicking off the events with the children’s New Year jog through Maria Theresien Strasse.
The New Years celebration isn’t going all day, so if you need something to do to kill a few hours in expectations of the New Years eve party, you can hit the slopes within 15 minutes of arriving in town. The shuttles are all absolutely free with any valid ski pass, which you get free with any hotel accommodation in the city.
