Many thanks to all who attended our conference in Winchester on 28 September. Without your participation the day would not have been as successful at it was. With over 100 people in attendance the day enabled us to meet up face to face with our members and supporters. John Holmes, SAVAGE Chair, opened the conference with the good news that membership of SAVAGE is now FREE! He also took the opportunity to launch the organisation's business plan, which contains details of exciting developments of new services being offered by SAVAGE. Some of which were available to delegates on the day as training workshops. These were well received and judging by the feedback very informative and useful. If you did not manage to attend we are running further workshops across the South East and South West in November and December. We have already received bookings for these from delegates who were at the conference which shows how popular these future events are likely to be. Workshop information and a booking form: www.savage-europe.org.uk/events/index.htm. Details of FREE membership: www.savage-europe.org.uk/membership.htm The SAVAGE Business Plan 2006/08: www.savage-europe.org.uk/news.htm Once again thank you to all those who attended and your helpful suggestions in ways in which we can meet the needs of our members in the months and years to come. We hope to meet more of you in the future workshops across the region in the coming months. |

The Nationwide Foundation works towards a just and caring society by encouraging people to take part in building better futures in their communities. They have launched a new initiative to support a limited number of charities over the longer term and have a major impact on the work they do. The overreaching theme of the programme is Supporting Families. Current focusing is on young people who are or have been involved with the criminal justice system with a rehabilitation programme designed to obtain the skills, confidence and personal support networks to enable them to lead fulfilled and successful lives. |
